I am a faithful latter-day saint and temple attending person. I have trust in our prophet and general authorities. I realize doctrine cannot and should not change by petition. But policies can and often are changed in response to prayerful requests. If this were a doctrinal issue, those in other countries would be required to wait a year also. There is so much potential for good to be done for families and the church, through waiving the one year waiting period. I hold the temple as sacred and do NOT believe we should require free entry to all. I just beg my leaders to prayerfully ask if the one year wait can be waived in the United States, as is done in other countries. Too many people are being deeply hurt.
